Date of Passing: Jan 17, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE WENZOSKI (nee GREGOR) Peacefully on January 17, 2005, at East Gate Lodge, Anne Wenzoski passed away at the age of 92 years. Anne leaves to cherish her memory her only child Sandra and husband Neil Ross. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Lu-Ann (Jaret Dola), Sue (Brian Pearce) and Jason (Jennifer); and five great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Jayde, Avery, Sienna and Brayden. Anne was predeceased by her husband Dollard in October 1963; her sister Eva; and brother Daniel. She is survived by her older sister Mary Werhun. Anne's parents Fedor and Mary Gregorash emigrated from Austria to Transcona, MB, where Anne was born September 27, 1912. The family moved to Molson, MB, in 1914 to create a family homestead. Anne was a strong person with firm beliefs; she kept everything and everyone in order. She loved to read and enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing and travelling. Anne worked in Winnipeg until she married Dollard on June 6, 1936. They created and established Wenzoski Grocery with a Texaco gas station at Seddon's Corner. The corner store and post office was an asset to the small community, providing the only available phone and issuing credit to all customers. During these times, community get-togethers were common, and Anne would join in by playing the mouth organ. After Sandra and Neil took over the store in 1968, Anne remained active in the post office and in the store, as well as looking after her grandchildren. Anne moved into East Gate Lodge in November 2001. Many thanks to Sally, Vivian and the staff in the Rose and Shamrock units of East Gate Lodge for their love, care and understanding. The family is so grateful to Dr. Schmidt and Russell Funeral Home for their compassion and consideration. In accordance with Anne's wishes, only an evening memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 19, 7:30 p.m. at Russell Funeral Home, Park Avenue, Beausejour, MB. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Anne's memory may be made to East Gate Personal Care Home, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
